My son wears diapers when he plays video games so he doesn't have to take a break? I think my 14 year old son is addicted to video games. He started buying adult diapers and wearing them when he plays video games. Is this something I should just ignore or should I do something?

Any suggestions for good baby shower games? I know about the poopy diaper game and the freezing the tiny baby in a ice cube game and the diaper pin (don't say baby) game... Any other suggestions for some fun baby shower games? LOL - Yes, games to play at a baby shower party.

p1nk_p1x1e replied: "guess how many inches around she is and then use a measuring tape to measure"

emma m replied: "LMAO - i am english and had to read your question several times - with an open mouth and frown! - before i realised what you meant - i think! do you mean games to play at a party - not games to play with your baby in the shower? LOL sorry - i can't help, i have no idea, other than - open the wine game ;-) only for the non-preg's though!"

Proud Mommy replied: "Cross word puzzles Guess the baby names of animals...(Cow is heifer) Have people guess how large mommy's tummy is with tiolet paper See who can drink the juice out the bottle the fastest."

mom+ replied: "We had a lot of fun with the guess the baby food game. Buy 10 or so stage 1 baby food jars (make sure the expiration dates are at least 7 months ahead of moms due date) and cover the labels with paper. Have everyone guess what the jar contains. The person who gets the most correct wins. We had two more jars for tiebreaks. Then, send the food home with the expectant mom to use down the road."

colten's mama replied: "Here are some cute fun ideas :) Make baby words - Have someone select six consonants and two vowels. Then have your guests try to form as many baby related words using those letters. The person with the most baby words wins. You can adjust the number of consonants and vowels selected to make it harder or easier for your guests. Guess how many - Get a baby bottle and fill it up with mini-pacifiers, candy, or any other item you like. Have your guests guess how many items are in the bottle. The winner can win the bottle full of candy or some other prize. I think this one is cute.... Baby Shower Bag Game. Here's what you do: 1. Take plain brown paper bags or colored gift bags and label each bag with a letter that spells out "B-A-B-Y S-H-O-W-E-R". 2. Put an item for baby in each bag that corresponds with the letter on the bag (i.e. - 'A' can be aspirator, 'Y' can be a yellow rubber duck, 'B' for bib, etc.). Secure the bag closed so that guests can't peak inside to see what the item is. 3. Pass the bags around to the guests and have them write down their guess on what is in each bag solely on feeling/shaking the bags. Let them know that the item in the bag starts with the letter on the bag. 4. Have the mommy-to-be open each bag to reveal what is inside. The items can be put into a nice basket for her to take home."

B'sMomma replied: "Fill a basket or baby tub with lots of baby items. Carry it around the room allowing everyone to look at it for 15-30 seconds. Take the basket out of the room and ask everyone to write down as many items as they can remember. The person who remembers the most wins! Have everyone fill out an index card with their guess on birth date, gender (if unknown), weight, and length. Also have them write their address on the card. Once the baby is born, see who's guesses were closest and send a small gift or gift card. Purse Game- Ask questions such as: Do you have a pacifier in your purse? Do you have more than 3 keys? Do you have a toy car? Do you have tissues? etc They get a point for each item they have in their purse, most points win."

Ryan's Mommy replied: "At my shower , my sister had bought a tray full of sample baby items, lotion, bottle, pacifier ( all kinds of goodies) then she walked arounf the room showing everyone what was on it for a minute. Then she covered it! Everyone had 2 minutes to write down what they saw on the tray! The best part I got to keep all the baby items that were on the tray !"

NATALIE&NICOLES_MOMMY replied: "One of the games we had played at my baby shower was the " Mommy multitask game" what you will need is... - a rope - clothe pins - a basket of baby clothes - a baby doll - and a cell phone to play the game you have to people holding each end of the rope and whoevers turn it is to play has to hold the baby doll, be talking on the phone and see how many clothes they can pin up on the clothes line all at the same time. You give a set time limit and who ever gets the most clothes on the line without dropping the baby or the phone wins... its a hilarious game. Another one was getting a jar ( or something like a coffee can ) and have a label on it saying... " Closest to guessing amount of money in the can at the end of the baby shower takes home ALL" So as everyone shows up have them put their spear change or even dollar bills into the jar. When it is time to play the game you have everyone come up and write down on a piece of paper what their guess is. Who ever is closet gets to take home a thing of " ALL laundry detergent " and the money goes into the Baby's Fund.... Have fun!!!"

What are some good baby shower games? I got the dirty diaper game, guess the baby food, and how well do you know mommy and daddy but that doesnt seem like enough. How many games are you suppose to play anyways?

Preggars replied: "You do not want to many games or people will get more bored. But one we did at my shower that was a lot of fun was finish the nursery rhymes. There was one line to a rhyme with some of it missing and people had to fill it in. Like "Jack Sprat could eat no fat and his wife could eat no _______". The answers were funny!"

tambos67camaro replied: "2-3 games are what I've seen played most."

Leanne replied: "There's no number of games you have to play, btu you can give each guest a string to cut and wrap it around your belly a casual "guess mommys belly size" game, you can also have a "guess the gender game" if you know the gender and everyone else doesnt, here's a link for you to see all the different games and variety you can have at your shower. Congrats and best wishes!! =) "

Kathy B replied: "Baby present bingo (you get a bingo card & write in the squares different baby items. As mom opens the presents you get to mark a square if she gets one of the items you wrote). Guess the prices. Put together a gift basket of baby essentials (lotion, soap, rash cream, diapers, etc) and keep the receipt. Then you have everyone guess how much each item costs. Who ever is closest to the total spent wins."

bernie2u4 replied: "The baby pin in the rice game, clothespin to the shirt and anytime someone says baby take it from them(person with the most at the end wins) measure the belly. If you have guys at the shower you can do bobbing for nipples and the fastest person to drink beer from a bottle. Another really neat one I heard of was placing words on the bottom of the plates, throughout the night shout out words and if it's on the bottom of the plate they get a prize."

cutenwild1769 replied: "the more the better!!! lol theres a game dont know what its called but on a plate they have different baby items. like a bib a spoon, a diaper, nail clippers as many as you can fit on there and then you pass it around and everyone looks at it afterwards when the plates put up you ask them to write all of the items down whoever actually remembers the most wins!! then theres the game where everyone gets a close pin through the whole babyshower and whoever says the words baby and you catch them you take the closepen and whoever has the most closepens at the end of the shower wins...goodluck to you and congratulations!"

Rachel replied: "i hated this game at my shower... but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. the potty paper game. Everyone guesses how many squares of potty paper it will take to wrap around you and your tummy... lol."

cstar replied: "you can pass a roll of string along and ask guests to guess how big around you are by cutting the string. the closest guest wins a prize. there is also a game where you guess the name of nursery rhymes. You give a mixed up description of the rhymes."

Krusty chick =] replied: "well ama 12 year old [about 2 b 13] but i kno some games myself ok dis 1 i dont kno wat its called but u get a punch bowl and put cotton balls in it [like a bunch] u get a spoon w/ it [a BIG spoon] ok u put tha punch bowl on top of the player and she/he will try 2 get as much cotton balls [i think its only 5 or 7 times] [dont remember] =] another is tha baby bottle race put like some kind of coke or drink in tha baby bottle and they will race of who can finich it faster well thats all i can remember but i hope u have fun!! =] CRISTY"

mrs k replied: "melt different chocolates in different nappyes.it will look similar to baby poor. sorry i know it is disgusting. guest have to guess what chocolate by smell and taste.the person who gets all rigth, gets the price/"

bubb1e_gir1 replied: "This is a really fun ongoing game. It goes through the whole shower. Get ring pops and tie them to string (like pacifiers). We wrapped our in Saran wrap so the candy didn't get all over the guests clothing. At the very beginning of the shower explain that the guest of honor can't do something....(Like crossing her legs, bending at the waist, etc - things you can't do well when pregnant) announce that since she can't, no one else can either. All the guests should watch their fellow guests for commiting this forbidden act. If some one should bend down at the waist during the party and are caught they must surrender one ring pop pacifier to the guest who caught them. Just because you don't have a pacifier doesn't mean you can't get someone else's. At the end of the party, the person with the most pacifiers gets a cute door prize. - or just a congrats will work too."

Cynthia G replied: "you use totlie paper and messure the belly"

jmmartinez86 replied: "Put together a big basket of baby essentials and have your guests look at it for a minute. Then after a game or two, pass out a pen and paper and have them write down what they remember is in the basket. This might sound stingy, but it's for your baby. If you already have a name picked out, let everyone know what it is. Then tell them they HAVE to say your baby's name instead of saying "the baby". And everytime they say "baby" they have to put a nickel or dime on a piggy bank."

Mama2Beee#1 replied: "the last baby shower i went to we played 4 games.....one of them started at the very beginning when everyone walked in and lasted til the eand of the shower; everyone gets a baby pin and noone can say the word "baby" and if someone catches someone else saying it they get that persons baby pins. The person with the most pins wins a prize."

I have a friend who is expecting her first baby. What kind of games are fun? I really dont know any other games than the dirty diaper game and then theres the possibility that her husband may be at it too. I want everyone to be able to have fun and no one feel uncomfortable. Ive only been to one other baby shower before and there werent very many games at that one.

K B replied: "make everyone guess who the father is!!! (I'm just joking) I've been to many a shower, and I've never liked games. I'm just as happy sitting around, watching her open presents and eating a little food. I don't think Im the only one who doesn't like games at baby showers either...."

Tracy replied: "My shower was loads of fun.... We played the estimate my tummy game....gave everyone a chance to cut string to guess the size of my belly (you should have seen how big some people thought I was) Then we played the guess the baby food game...the labels were taken off the bottles & we had to go by looks alone Then my friend spent DAYS researching a bunch of trivia games like: name all the siblings of these tv/movie families....Simpsons, Cosby Show, etc Name the baby name for these animals...spider, etc There were other games too, but I can't remember them :) A friend's shower had couples & they did trivia questions in a fish bowl about the couple. Edit: We also did the word scramble... a lot tougher than you'd think."

anistonalltheway replied: "Do a word mix. Use words like leoltsrr and make them guess the word (stroller!). I would choose about 20-30 baby words. Take the label off of baby food jars, number them, and make people guess what they are (peas, pears, etc) Make sure you write down what each number is before you take the label off! I might come up with more later! Good Luck"

mommy-to-be June 2008 replied: "The Tray Memory Game Before the game starts Put 15 to 20 small items associated with babies on a tray. These should be items such as a bottle, pacifier, baby sock, safety pin, baby's brush, baby oil etc. Give each of your guests a piece of paper and a pencil to write down their answers. To start the game bring the tray into the room and place it where all the guests can see it but tell them not to touch, leave the tray in that position for one minute and tell the guests to memorize the items that are on the tray, then remove the tray from the room and give the guests five minutes to write down on pieces of paper what all the items were. The guest who gets the most items correct is the winner."

smiley_in_nyc replied: "I've been to many baby showers and that's usually the only game they play. Another game would be to buy some bottles (# of bottles for # of guys who will be at the baby shower). Fill the baby bottles with your choice of drink (they used soda at the shower I attended) and see who can drink the liquid first. Whoever does wins a prize. :)"

Jess replied: "1. fill up baby bottles with coke or juice and have three people volunteer to drink from them. The first one to finish wins. 2. get people to volunteer as couples. One person will be the "baby", the other is the "mother". The baby will sit on a chair while the mother stands in front and is blindfolded. The mother then has to feed the baby baby food (not looking to see if the food actually gets in the baby's mouth). its quite funny to see! 3. another couple game: get rolls of toilet paper, and one person has to be the baby, while the other has to make a diaper using the toilet paper. Time the game so that the couples only have 1 or 2 minutes to make the diaper. 4. give everyone a piece of paper and a crayon. Have them hold the paper on top of their head and draw a baby. The best looking picture wins. 5. Toilet paper: pass toilet paper (or it can be some kind of string) and everyone has to guess how much they'll need to go around Your friends belly. Who ever measures closest wins. 6. safety pins - Hold a basket filled with safety pins and a spoon above the guest's head. They have to transfer as many safety pins as they can into another bowl in only 3 scoops. (this can also be done with cotton balls). 7. Guessing games: fill a baby bottle with jelly beans and have people guess how many jelly beans are in there. Or you can put a baby item (thermometer, binkie, etc) in a box and have the guests guess what's in the box without opening it."

looking for different baby shower games? My mom and sisters are planning a baby shower for me but we are having a hard time thinking of new games. We don't want to do the dirty diaper game or the guess the food game or don't say baby game because they are over used. Does anyone have any suggestions for some fun new games?

My Oh My replied: "Here's a website with a ton of different games. If you google "baby shower games" there are a ton of answers."

Lisa replied: "It's not really a game but I really liked this. Have people at your baby shower write a message or thought or something they may be wondering about the baby on a piece of paper and attach the paper to a birthday candle and put in a canaster, each year on your child's birthday place one candle with a message on the cake and read it to them........it's a nice surprise for both you and your child..."

New Mom replied: "At my shower there was a game involving candy. So the clue would be person who buys the baby clothes and the answer would be sugar daddy! And the person who gets the answer wins the sugar daddy...It was fun, I don't have all of the examples, but I'm sure they could think of a lot!"

Faith4jesus replied: "I saw one on the tv show "Designing Women" that I have never forgotten. It was so funny! One of the people in charge of the party sits with a pen & paper during the opening of gifts. She writes down everything people say with each gift. Then after the gifts are done she makes an announcment - "Now, (name of mom to be) may not know this but I had her room bugged the night this baby was made." (pause for people to laugh or joke) "Here is just a example of what they said that night in the dark." "Oh so cute!" "I want that" "I didn't know they made that in that size!" "I love that color" I've never played it but on the show it was very funny & I laugh each time I see that episode."

Kitty replied: "Some that I've played that were fun were a lottery to guess the delivery date -- everyone signs their name and bets a dollar.. the money all goes to the parents and whoever wins gets bragging rights. You could also get a roll of streamers and everyone has to rip off a piece that they think will be big enough to wrap around your belly. Who ever is closest without going over wins. It's really funny because people don't want to rip off a HUGE piece - this is even funnier if you have men at your shower lol It's also great because then you can keep the winning piece to look at after you've had the baby and forget just how big you really were!"

How many games should you play at a baby shower? we will have roughly 60 women there.? I was thinking of 4 games in total. maybe one back up if needed. I was thinking A to Z baby names (see whom can list names for all 26 letters the fastes) Baby food game (guess what is which food) Possibly the Baby Diaper game (where you melt the small candy bars in the diapers and the people have to guess which diaper contains what) and Baby Shower bingo, With the guests ages in consideration i was thinking about the baby bottle race. (whom can empty a baby bottle the fastest) (of course the nipples would never be used again lol)

me m replied: "pass the dildo"

lucylu replied: "If there is going to be other pregnant women at your shower, I would suggest not doing the melt the candy in the diaper. I went to one when I was 5 months along, my sister was there and another friend of mine, all three of us were pregnant, and all three of us threw up. The other games sound fun though. Have fun!"

I_LUV_MY_HUBBY!! replied: "have each person tear off toliet papaer off a row and see which one fits the best around your stomach(they are supposed to guess how big your stomach is.) at every baby shower ive ever been too this game has been a hit!"

CONFUSED replied: "I think thats great!! i played 4 games at mine also!! they are sooo fun!! GOOD LUCK!!"

sarah jane replied: "I agree with lucy- I am not a fan of the diaper game, even for non-preggos. With 60 people, that's enough games. Most people will be busy talking to each other, so you won't need to keep them entertained as much."

Redrose replied: "Personally, I don't like games. If I had to, 2 games would be good for people like me. I like this game- Stick a sticker on the bottom of of someone plate(s) or the bottom of a chair(s). They win a door prize. Good Luck and Have Fun!"

Help with baby shower games and prizes? What have been some games you really enjoyed at a baby shower? I do not care for them but the mom to be wants games. So far I have thought about the dirty diaper game, measuring mom's belly, and I still need a third game. As for prizes I thought of doing a small candle, small lotion, and maybe something else little? Should I leave it at the candle and lotion or what else should I do? Thanks for all your help!

Kalynn's Mommy and 1 on the replied: "another game you can do is the bobby pins in the rice. You give each person a minute blindfolded to get as many bobby pins out of the rice as they can. It's really hard because the rice and the bobby pins feel really simular. Another game would be pick 6 baby food 3 vegatables and 3 fruits. Take the labels off them and number the top and get everybody to guess what they are. ANd teh candle and lotion sound nice and maybe a picture frame!! Good luck"

Sarah P replied: "Baby Animal Game - match up Baby Animal names with adult animal names. Baby Shower Bingo is always fun and all ages can play. If your crowd likes a challenge maybe Baby Food Guess - Line up baby food jars and guess the contents, similar ideas What's in the dirty diaper (use candy bars) and Guess the White Stuff. Here is directions for the dirty diaper game. If you need an ice breaker consider a get to know the guest game first, this on e is easy and fun. Baby Shower Do You Know Me? You may also want some simple pen and paper trivia or word games here are a variety. As for your prizes they sound fine, you can always add a baby bottle filled with Hershey's Kisses or other candy as an easy to make prize. Then there are baby shower specific ones like these: About to Hatch - Egg Timer Heaven Scent - Baby Powder Candle World's Gratest Mom - It's a Cheese Grater and there are more here This site is nice you can buy one or 50 items. Have fun! Sarah"

My sister is having my baby shower on Saturday she has no more ideas for baby shower games we have 3 out of 5? so far any ideas will be greatly appreciated... 1. tummy game 2. guess how many candy in a bottle 3. dirty diaper game we want fun fast and easy games that everyone would want to play and not be shy... Thank you in advance...

Free Range Due 12/17/08! replied: "Baby food tasting game. Take the labels off the jar and have everyone taste.....and then guess what it is."

jen replied: "My shower was this weekend and we played a very fun game. It's called "Mommy Brain" and it's like memory. You have different cards numbered on the front and with a baby-related word on the back on something like poster board (or that stand up thing people use for science fair projects--My hostess is a teacher). There are 20 cards, with 10 baby words/phrases on the back, so that there are sets of two. You go around, each choosing two cards to see if there's a match. If there is, that person holds onto the match. If not, you flip them back over and the next person gets to try. After the game, there are 10 matches. The hostess goes around and gives out corresponding candies for each phrase/word matched... Like the person who got the match with "epidural" gets Lifesavers candy, "cost of a baby" gets 100 Grand candy bar, etc. The others I remember were-- Nap= Take 5 candy bar Breastfeeding=Milky Way 10 Pound Baby= Whoppers Contractions=Shock Tarts/Shockers Bottle=Baby Bottle Pop (sugar candy in a bottle shape) Baby Girl=Baby Ruth candy bar (I think for a boy it'd be O'Henry) I had never heard of this game before, so it was a treat to play."

Diapers and Video games? My 3 1/2 year old seams to lose control of his bladder and bowels when playing video games. He's almost potty trained. It's hard to get him away from the games, even if it's to change him. They're educational games and my wife doesn't like the idea of taking them away just for an accident. Is there any way to get him to stop and go or should we just keep changing him after he's done? He'll turn 4 in june.

JaXX replied: "Maybe he's a little young to be playing."

Power Flower replied: "I doubt he's losing control of his bladder. He'd just rather play games than go to the toilet. Just say to him before he starts playing that if he needs to go to the toilet he must tell you and that he'll be able to finish the game when he comes back. If it's possible to pause the games, show him. He just doesn't want to miss out on any action."

ryan s replied: "Maybe you could kept him in diapers just little alonger or make him pause the games go to bath room"

Salt&Pepper Apricot replied: "I would say no more video games for a while. If your wife wants him to learn things, she can teach them herself, and y'all can take your kids to a library. They have all sorts of fun things for kids. Kids really shouldn't be getting addicted to TV, computer, etc."

jandismommie replied: "Start limiting the amount of time he plays on the games. Even if they are educational it is not good for him to just sit and play them constantly."

Karen T replied: "Your the parent. If he needs a diaper change, then change the kids diaper. He is not loosing control, he is too involved with his games and since he's diapered guess what, he uses his diapers. I'm not going to lecture on potty training because he is your son and you sould know what is best and if he still needs diapers then so be it but if he needs a diaper change, you can alway pause the game for a clean diaper."

Cloth diapers cost effective late in the game? I know this question gets answered a lot, but please indulge me. I've been looking at using cloth diapers for a few different reasons, but I'm wondering if they are going to actually save any money in the end. My son is now 13 months old which means we won't be using them for nearly as long. We also have propane for our water heater, which is ridiculously expensive. Has anyone done the thinking or math to share if I would actually be spending the same or more because of all of the hot laundry? Also, any thoughts on family wipes?

TotalRecipeHound replied: "Babies in cloth diapers tend to train a lot earlier than those in disposables. Calculate out your cost to wash one load of diapers. Compare that with the cost of your diapers and what difference it would make if your child trained at say 24 months vs. the 28 month average for children in disposables. Electricity costs for drying (and water in some areas) are usually a bigger cost than the water heater for these loads. Your septic system may also play a role. For instance, my sister's septic system may need replacement in 5 years. If she were doing diapers, that would probably move the replacement up a year if she had a newborn. For a 1 year old baby, two loads a week shouldn't be a problem. I made diapers for 3 couples at a cost of less than $50 in materials using flannel sheets and terry towels bought at garage sales plus new velcro. Today I would use aplix. If you want new fabric, Walmart carries the traditional double-napped flannel. For wipes, the best ones I have used had microfiber on one side and terry on the others. I made flannel on one side and terry on the other and my sister serged them."

belinda replied: "You've got to answer some questions for yourself, like do you plan to have more children? Do you plan to use inexpensive prefolds or more expensive pockets or AIOs? Would you feel OK washing the diapers in warm water rather than hot? Do you think you'll use disposables when you go out? At night? (Of course you will at the beginning, but I mean long term.) If you plan to use prefolds, then you absolutely can save some money. Even if you want to use more expensive diapers, if you want to have more children someday, then you'll save money in the long run. You can actually sell your diapers on EBay or on a FSOT board and make quite a bit, especially if you don't smoke and have no pets. I cannot believe how much people pay for used diapers on auction sites--almost as much as new diapers cost! Hot water is really optional. It really helps rinse out the detergent, but most diaper websites recommend putting detergent into the hot wash, so I'm not sure why we need a hot wash at all. There's an article (I think it's on The Diaper Pin) about how to use warm or cold water to wash diapers. Someone is bound to say "but hot water kills all the germs!" Yeah, unless you're practically boiling the diapers, you can't ask hot water to kill all the germs. That's what vinegar, tea tree oil and the sun are for! :-) Here's a new article I found for you: I plan to use family wipes after my new baby arrives. I don't currently have any diaper laundry, but once the baby comes, I won't mind adding some TP to the washer! I do plan to keep using paper for number 2, however. I'm not THAT green!"

You'll definitely save in the long run if you have another baby or two. We've been using family cloth for about a year now. With my daughter and me peeing so much, we used to go through a whole role of TP every day. Now we don't use any and save a lot of money. :-)"

beccimae replied: "Well, we started late in the game too and we think it is worth it. You don't have to wash them in "hot" water really anymore. They don't need to be "sterile". You can just dry them on the line too. I wash mine in warm and do an extra rinse. The way to make it economical is to use prefolds with covers. You will only need about 6 covers and at most 2 dozen diapers for a baby that old. I just rinse my diapers out if he has a BM (dump in the toilet and rinse in the laundry room sink with cold water). Cold water actually works the best for rinsing the diapers because it makes the yucky poo just fall off. I do have a few Drybees all in one hybrids (because I sell them) to use on outings because they are easier to change. When we're bumming around the house he is in a cover and a cloth diaper. Those dry so quickly on the line even on a cloudy day and depending on where you live (we live in rainy washington) you can get them dry easily if it is not raining. Otherwise, it doesn't take me longer than 40 minutes to dry a load of diapers. The key is to not use a lot of detergent (seems counterintuitive), no fabric softener at all, and don't wait more than a day and a half or so to wash them. I only do one more load of wash every two to three days than I normally do and I don't go psycho with the hot water and chemicals and his diapers are great. So: 2-3 dozen prefolds cost anywhere from $10-25 per dozen 6 covers--from $6-12 a piece 2 extra loads of laundry per week--it is summer so you can probably skip the dryer too. They also potty train a lot faster when they are in cloth so really, you will save money by getting him out of those diapers earlier than you will with disposables. Not to mention all the crap I have read about what they put in those yucky things! If that seems too overwhelming, look at g-diapers or something middle of the road between cloth a disposable/flushable."

To be honest we got our Electricity bill yesterday, and it is actually dropped from $90 a month to $60 a month now. Awesome!! It's weird because we have 3 more children now. You don't have to wash in hot water. I do, but not always. I soak my nappies over the day in boiling water, and then rinse them in cold. I only wash in hot water the ones that really need it. I however have no choice in using cloth nappies, my kids are allergic to plastic in disposables & wipes. I have never heard of family wipes?? I like toilet paper. I use old rags for my kids and wash them in with the nappies."

Consider the Lilies replied: "I did the research because I was planning to CD.... The start up costs for me (going new) would've been about $500 - $600. Since your son is already 13 months, that isn't a savings at all unless you plan to keep them for a second child. If you want to give it a go without breaking the bank, I would suggest starting with a 'test-drive set' from Sunshine Diapers. You can try a variety of diaper brands/styles and find what works for you before investing your money. If you like the test drive experience, then search for your preferred dipes used."
