Digital Camera Cheap Information in Q&A
where can a person by a good digital camera Cheap? Im looking for A new digital camera, but i don't know what types are good and are cheap. please help! : )

John replied: "craigslist!!!!"

VINTAGE MUSIC replied: "Canon SD1200 IS cheaper but equal quality is Canon A1000 IS cheaper yet is Canon A470. Best Buy, Walmart On line: Beach Camera B&H Photo Adorama Amazon.com"

goldwing replied: ""Cheap" and "Good" normally cannot be used in the same sentence, but with cameras, it is surprising at how little such good instruments can cost. Go to Calumetphoto.com, check out Canon cameras....find the model that suits your price range and you will not be disappointed. I have found Calumet to be priced better than almost anyone else, (do not buy on ebay!), they honor warranty issues, and they ship the same day or next day! They accept credit cards and are very easy to deal with...this is a national chain, so you will not be taken for a ride. IF you have any doubts about what you want, go into Best Buy if one is close, look, touch, feel...you will find what you want at the price you want to pay. Stay away from Kodak and Fuji....too many bad things written here about this or that problem. So far, I have had no problems with any Canon I have ever owned."

stan l replied: "Depends on what you mean by cheap. Good is never cheap."

Ed C replied: "Try using a price comparison site such as to compare different models and prices. I'd recommend the Nikon D60 as a good starter dSLR camera."

Where can I get a cheap digital camera? Where can I find a good quality digital camera for cheap?

peter c replied: "Y r u trying to make a taser to use in a robbery.....TERRORISIM"

Jim A replied: "there are normally two works that don't work together, good and cheap."

Nattie Bo Girl replied: "Target or Wal Mart. For super cheap, definetly Wal Mart or Best Buy. Target is more expensive but you probably will get better quality... hope this helps!"

Lasiaf replied: "try newegg"

Where can i find a cheap digital camera? my birthday is coming up and all i want for my birthday is a nikon or a pretty nice digital camera for cheap. Any stores or websites (besides ebay) that i can buy i cheap one off of??

Kristen K replied: "Try wallmart or amazon.com"

VINTAGE MUSIC replied: "Amazon.com Beach Camera Abe's of Maine B&H Photo Adorama"

What is a good and cheap digital camera to purchase? What do you guys suggest? Looking in the range from cheapest - possibly 200 (ebay gives good deals lol) I saw this underwater digital camera that seemed cool, but not sure how the regular picture quality is. Also found this one: Fuji FinePix Z20fd that seems cheap and high MP.. not sure how it is.

Spencer replied: "I would suggest one of the following types of cameras: Canon Powershot Nikon Coolpix Kodak EasyShare Fujifilm FinePix All of those cameras have basically the same specs and are around the same price. They also come in different sizes and colors. So just find one that you think looks good and is in your price range. Most of these cameras range from $100-$300."

keerok replied: "If you want brand-new, go to the corner shop and get a no-name Chinese digicam. Takes average quality pictures outdoors under lots of sunshine, consistently crappy indoors even with flash, no warranties or after-sales service and if you happen to drop it in the pool, no tears to wipe. With this type of camera, you won't miss a thing because they are small enough to bring anywhere and you won't worry about it being stolen. You'll even be adventurous enough to shoot under light rain and on the mud because it is dirt cheap. If you buy an equally cheap transparent protective bag, it would be possible to submerge the camera in water."

Carlos replied: "i prefer Canon Powershot"

Marcel replied: "Hi, You can make choice from below shown list: Kodak EasyShare M1033 Nikon Coolpix S600 Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 Pentax Optio S12 Canon PowerShot A1000 IS Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Casio Exilim EX-Z80 I prefer canon powershot..again dont only look for high MP as it is useful only when you want to make your picture to poster sizes instead look for red eye reduction, modes camera providing will be better. Generally 5MP camera is enough to make big poster size picture for print. Also you can surf good deal sites to get those camera at cheaper rates: Hope this will help you.."

Need a cheap digital camera that can hold at least 100-150 pictures? My friend is going on a trip, and is looking for a cheap digital camera. He doesn't really want to buy extra memory cards, so he's looking for a digital camera that would be able to hold 100-150 pictures. Thanks!

thethingzuneed replied: "you are going to have to buy at least one memory card anyway."

Pooky replied: "Memory cards are so physically small (and inexpensive nowadays)--he shouldn't limit himself to any camera's built in memory (which usually will be a point and shoot model with merely 16 MB or so) anyway. If he doesn't want to carry an extra memory card, get a big fat 8 to 16 GB one. It will let him take more than what he wants / needs."

Jon Jong replied: "Most any camera out there will suffice. The question is what quality photos do you plan on taking? If you want photo quality for 4x6 or even 5x7 photos then go with at least a 3.1 MP camera. If you buy a camera make sure that you max out the resolution in the settings. Most cameras allow you to adjust the resolution. If you lower your resolution to 640x480 then effectively you do the math and your MP is equivalent to a .3 MP image...good for email and that's about it...no printing! I don't know your definition of "cheap". I know Best Buy has a Canon Powershot 7.1MP camera on sale for $179. It comes with a 32MB card. For sake of argument you can plan on each photo taking up 1MB of space. If you buy a 256MB card then you can hold 200+ photos very easily. I don't like Kodak because their cameras feel and look very cheap. Nikon point and shoot cameras in my experience have a slow flash memory...they blur images in fast motion much more than other cameras. I have always been partial to Canon. Truth is any camera would suffice today. Pick the resolution on your camera settings that most closely equals 3 million pixels. If you max out a 7MP camera then you will hold less photos but have a higher quality photo for printing. A 256MB card should be fine unless you go to a higher resolution camera, then I would go with at least a 512MB card."

link replied: "Yikes man, 2 GB SD cards are under $20 now and hold at least 300 six megapixel images (more if you don't use the best resolution or highest quality compression). Just buy a card, or two!"

Know any websites where i can buy a cheap digital camera? I'm looking to buy either a Fujifilm Finepix A610 or A700 digital camera, and was wondering if anyone knows of a website (preferably UK) where i could buy one from for a cheap price. Also, if you know of any websites where i can get cheap memory cards, that would be great! Thanks

Hol. replied: "Check out Ebay.com or Amazon.com I've only ever gotten something through Amazon and it was in good condition, however it was only a CD. It's worth the shot."

Camy replied: "in uk i dont know but,, I always shop on; and the mother of all about the memory cards. go to ebay. they have the best memory cards for like 20.00 including shipping new. ive bought xd's sd's mmc's and most recently the sony pro duo for like 18.00 and it was a 1gb"

Prt R replied: "There are a lot of good cameras at low price on amazon for you: Good luck!"

What is a cheap digital camera that can take some abuse? I'm looking for a cheap digital camera which can take some abuse and moisture / water. I fish a lot and am looking for one that I can keep in my tackle box. The camera should be resiliant to water, moisture, and heat to a certain extend. But I don't want to blow my budget of $100. The camera will be in the box only for the duration of the trip. I will take it out as soon as I get in the Truck and place it in a proper place in the house.

Tony B replied: "Kodak Easyshare"

Ara57 replied: "I don't know of any at that (or maybe ANY) price level that will withstand life in a tackle box unless you are very careful! A better alternative would be a disposable film underwater camera. It would probably withstand a summer's worth of periodic heat, and a splash wouldn't bother it. There are just too many delicate parts in a digicam that would be easily broken or corrode in constant moisture."

TomTom replied: "my suggestion go to yahoo shopping digital cameras digital camera GUIDE be sure to check titles on the left side the guide should answer your questions"

Bob replied: "I don't want to be a wise guy here! but for the price range your asking about, it is not made! especially for $100.00 dollars! I have been fishing most of my life and I been a pro photographer for over 25 years!, water and sand will reek havoc on anything that has electronics or mechanical parts! if you fish in salt water that will destroy most any thing it comes in contact with! the good thing! but the bad thing is that you want to put your camera in your tackle box to protect your equipment! but again electronics and mechanical parts can not take getting bounced around! I'm sorry to say, your camera will be broken in no time! the problem is even if you spend $5 thousand dollars on your camera you will have the same problems! their is no indestructible camera out their! SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS, Thank You, Bob"

vienna2001 replied: "There isn't a digital camera made that will stand life naked in a tackle box, especially a sub-$100 model. BUT...if you put the camera in a camera case and THEN put it in your tackle box, you should have no problems. A padded fake leather or cordura model from Tamrac or LowePro should do the trick. Just make sure it has a secure zipper to keep the weather out. If you're a real beast with your gear, upgrade to a plastic Pelican-type case with a foam insert. These babies will survive nuclear war. Hope this helps."

Thelma L replied: "Sounds like you need to buy the extended warranty when you buy your next camera. I just bought one yesterday and was told that it would cover the camera even if I dropped it in water. This was on a Canon from Target. The cost was only $19 for 3 years. As far as for $100 or less - don't see that happening. Canon does have a nice camera on sale now at Target for $179.00. Good luck!"

How do you take a decent picture and properly focus a really cheap digital camera? Just got a really cheap digital camera. Im not expecting the world here, just photos that are in focus. Any tips?

Sara-ish replied: "A camera like that will most likely focus on the thing closest to it. I would make sure that the subject is closest and centered in the camera."

v-townk replied: "theres usually a setting on the camera that has a picture of a flower and its called the MACRO setting.. it focuses on close ups really easily u just have to stay really still till it snaps the picture"

M U replied: "A lot of the same rules apply to both digital and film cameras. Number one is that it is easier to get a sharp image if you are not too close to the subject. Once you get to 10 feet or so, the camera focuses on "infinity" and everything will be at its clearest. Besides, if the camera (again, digital or film) is *really* cheap, it may not have an adjusting focus, so it automatically focuses on "infinity." The other main rule is to hold the camera steady. If your hands are shaking, or you are in, say, a moving car, it is 1000 times harder to get a good image. More expensive digital cameras have automatic image stabilization, but your cheap camera almost certainly does not. Keep in mind that no camera can produce pictures that are sharper than the lens in the camera. A cheap camera is not going to have a super-sharp lens. So, you are right not to expect too much. But if you don't try for closeups and hold the camera still, you will get perfectly acceptable pictures. Have fun and good luck!!"

mj112 replied: "you dont"

Ryan M replied: "-be steady (or use a tripod) -Lots of light, preferably natural, but flash will help"

Can you still take nice pictures with a cheap digital camera? I have a cheap samsung digital camera I got for about 150$ at Best Buy, was wondering if I can still take nioe outdoor and indoor pictures? Seems like all those photosgraqphers out there are taking amazingly awesome pictures where the water color looks CYAN as opposed to my light blue water in the Pools... :( I really cant afford a 500$ canon right now, really cant, not with my newborn! Are there any tricks to make beautiful pictures where the colors are fantastic?

`D Nelson♥ replied: "Yes of course. It doesnt matter what kind of camera you have. I can buy an old camera at a thrift store and still take nuce pictures."

Shawn G replied: "5 years ago people said wow 1 megapixls and they looked great"

buntis replied: "yes, you just need an eye for it. I have a cheap camera but my pictures come out great...remember that angles and lighting have to do with it, and focus it really well...you can also use online photo places like kodakgallery.com to change the lighting and tone of the pictures."

nascar24 replied: "just look at the mega pixels. there are some cameras for cheap with higher mexapixels. they take decent pictures for a camera around 150-200 dollars. if you want a nice camera with clear hots expect to pay over 200-500.."

classicrockrox replied: "I have a $150 point and shoot camera, and look at the pictures I've taken. I think they're rather nice. It's all in how you use it. I would suggest taking out books on photography from the library."

Zane H replied: "yeah of course u can still take nice pictures every camera takes nice pictures"

antoni m replied: "that depends on one thing - you read some books, start with composition"

maggie replied: "you can affcourse the fance ones will take good ones but anycamera even a cheap one can take good pictures yuo just need to have right timeing and theyll turn out great!!!"

jonasxloveexab replied: "EBAY!! haha. and you best buy, radio shack, etc. and digital cameras aren't normally cheap in store but it matters the quality and the brand. good luck. =]"

Mike Juliet Whiskey Echo replied: "Have a garage sale. Whatever you can't sell, give to good will. TigerDirect.com is pretty cheap for any and all electronics. They often have big sales too. Throw away digital cameras are good if you just want it for a few pictures to throw online."

theanswerman replied: "ebay is a great price but make sure you get the money before shipping"

Jessica L replied: "have a garage sale or ebay and for the the digital camera ebay too"

Richard God's Fiery Falcon replied: "Garage Sale or on consignment at a local thrift store perhaps. Good Luck DFF"

Dew replied: "well you could get a cheap camera from wal-mart or k-mart.Ebay is a Great place to sell these closths. You could also have a yard sale."

Todd678 replied: "Ok,what you need to do...Is go to your local newspaper development and say your having a garage sale. By what i mean is have a garage sale! Get some signs and ask for an ad in the newspaper. This will cost you about 10$"

Tuddy replied: "You could invite some of your friends over for a clothing sale. That way they can try them on. I know alot of kids who would like new clothing but they can not afford new stuff. You could also invite their parents over. After all the economy isn't do too well. Everyone is on a budget."

~Miss Curious~ replied: "I dunno I usually give my old clothing to the poor."

Spermhearder replied: "You can get a $10 one on a key chain at wal=mart. Or you can spend about $75 and get one that is good for snapshots,,, still not great, but it does alright...........!"

One☮Love replied: "Have you ever heard of Plato's Closet? I'm not sure where you are from, but we have them in my area (NJ). You can sell lightly worn clothes there and they will give you cash on the spot. Then they re sell them in the store. Check around to see if there is anything like that in your area by doing a google check of something like "sell lightly worn clothes" If you can't find anything, there is always ebay amazon or craigslist. Good luck! Ps. Walmart has some decent digital cameras for cheap. If you just want it to upload pictures of your clothes online, buy a disposable camera and instead of getting the pictures developed, get them on a disk. Then upload the disk to your computer. That should save you a lot of money. Good luck EDIT: I just read through some of your previous questions and it looks like you live in Spring Field, MA. There are 3 Plato's Closet stores near there. Here's their website for more information... Law"

sillygirl replied: "You can get a nice digital camera at a pawn shop...I got one there and got a good deal on a really good one! As far as clothes...don't sell them at a yard sale...people will nickel and dime you! Try either ebay or check for consignment shops in your area! good luck!"

Jewelz replied: "http://www.platoscloset.com/ you can sell you close there"

buzzerdabuzzbuzz replied: "Once upon a baby is one source for getting loose of those no longer needed baby clothes, but for adult or older childrens clothes may I suggest a garage sale or gather all your stuff up and get your neighbors involved and have a community garage sale and all the proceeds can be devided equally or tag every item in order to be properly compensated. You may find that digital camera your looking for in your neighbors garage sale items."

Deborah M replied: "Try Craigslist for both."
