What is a good model of digital keychain frame? I'm looking for one with relatively good resolution and that won't scratch too easily.

Ara57 replied: "I have the Innovage. It has a bigger screen than some and retails for $29.99 USD. Not sure how well it will hold up to scratching, though. I have only had mine a couple of weeks, and so far so good. I think it will get scratched, because I have lots of keys and ornaments on my keychain and it all jumbles with the junk in my purse!"

Would a Keychain Digital Photo Frame be Allowed at Basic Training? I'm thinking about buying my husband a keychain style digital photo frame and loading it up with pictures of us and our daughter and giving it to him as a present before he leaves. He started to put a bunch of pictures on his ipod, but then we read that "walkman" type devices are not allowed. Do you think they would allow something like this? Very helpful, Thanks.

And in his pocket it could get broken, he'll be moving almost constantly. of course they didn't have those when i retired 15 years ago. SFC US Army Retired"

DNT replied: "A couple of reasons not too. First, the batteries run out really fast. Second, it is another thing for the drill insturctors to come down on him about. Basic is about learning to be what the army expects you to be. One or two pictures should be the max."

I would not mind the device as long as it only could display pictures and only after a examination of those pictures to insure that they are in line with the regulation. I would suggest that you just send laminated pictures in a zip lock bag so your husband can put them in his helmet and not have to worry about batteries or damaging the device. He can keep them with his persons all the time and look at them when ever he is afford the chance. You can place the picture up inside the helmet webing and they will never fall out. Thats what I did when I was in basic and when I still had the old Kevlar helmet. Just remember the worst thing that could happen is to be told no, I would send both just to keep his spirits up."

How do I put a picture into a photo frame keychain? It is small....but i have no idea how to put a picture in there.....it is metal

Susan L replied: "Hmm. Interesting question. I have an acrylic photo keychain and it has a hinged back on it. You use your fingernail to open the back up and slip your photo in before shutting it again. Look for a hairline crack in the keychain and gently see if it will open along that line. Can you revisit the store where you bought the keychain? They may be able to show you how to open it up."

Anyone have a digital frame keychain? I found this digital frame keychain in my closet from like Christmas that I never used. I can plug it up to the laptop and get it to let me put pictures on it and show up when I have it plugged to the computer. But as soon as I take it off the USB cord it shuts off and I can't get it to come on. But it still saves the pictures.. I have never had one of these before so I'm not sure why. Is it maybe a dead battery? The clock resets and everything when I take it off the USB ..

Mercury digital keychain frame transfer help? Ok i got a 1.5" digital keychain frame and it is sooooo hard to put pictures on it. It says that you have to use DPFMate v3.7.8 to add pictures or PhotoViewer but no cd came with it because i got it free with this digital camera i bought. the link to camera and keychain is this. I cant use PhotoViewer to do it because it keeps saying no photo viewer is found..Program terminated. Like wtff i tried so many times.

However, I might caution that if you are older...college age or more...and this is the ONLY present you are getting her, she is going to be incredibly disappointed. If that is the case, picture in a keychain plus her favorite perfume, a nice necklace, earrings, etc. Not just the key chain."

fhotoace replied: "No instructions came with it? I have seen these and they look tiny. I keep reading here that there are all kinds of problems getting them to work, resizing the images before using them and the like. Let us know if you find out."

Ara57 replied: "I got one, just install the software, then hook the key chain up via the USB port. Mine had to be charged for several hours. At least, the program automatically re-sized the files for me, all I had to do was click and drag. The battery life is dismal, though. Mine says view for 3 hours battery life, but that is a joke. Maybe 30 minutes. In fact, it's dead now!"

Digital photo frame keychain software? I just bought one of those digital photo keychains from ebay. It was shipped from hong kong. It says is was supposed to come with software but didn't. I'm already emailed the seller to send me a link for the software, but I was wondering if anyone has possible bought something like this before and knew where the software was or if they could send me the software. action jackson replied: "The other answer is likely incorrect. Most of these low res pic frames require a type of reformatting software for them to display the files. Do you know anyone else who has purchased one of these stateside? The software is pretty much universal, so someone elses version will likely work with your product."
