Bethany replied: "48 divided by 8 ="

dumblond4ever360 replied: "6 oz. each, or lay it out on the counter, divide into 6, or put it into bowls, adjust as needed"

What do you recommend giving an 11 mth? Feeding schedule: 6-7am -- (early morning) a 6 to 8 oz bottle 11-12pm -- brunch (waffle, pancake, eggs, etc), a cup of water and a fruit cup 4-5pm -- (dinner) popcorn chicken or hot dogs, bread and a cup of water or juice 9-9:30pm -- (bedtime) oatmeal w/ baby food mixed and a 4 oz bottle Now he drinks water throughout the day so I'm not too worried about that. But I don't what him too get tired of the foods, I need different foods that I could give him. Oh and do you think that he's being feed too much? Please if you're going to give me any smart a** comment save it. Go find another way to earn two points, I need real advice from real parents and/or peds. Thank you!

tink replied: "i would give more milk at that age and not so much juice and water but thats just what i did my sis does more juice and water and ur not feeding him too much i feed ever 4 to 5 hours also oh my goodness and i completly forgot u shouldnt give children under 2 hot dogs they have too many nitrates get the book what to expect the first year best thing i ever bought best of luck"

cunfyoozed replied: "I don't think you're feeding too much, in fact you may want to give him three solid meals, instead of a bottle for breakfast. He should be off the bottle soon, so I would start substituting a meal for his morning bottle. Maybe try not so many processed foods, such as hot dogs and popcorn chicken, and substitute with some fresh veggies and some protein."

pixiemeup82 replied: "no canned food. no hot dogs, only gerber meat sticks or like that. no pop corn chicken. too much sodium and fat. my mom gave us whole grain noodles cut up into small peices after you cook them, with a little chicken broth in it. thats good for bedtime, and will keep baby full. but dont for get to give the milk as well, baby needs other nutrients."

Ashley C replied: "My girl at 8 months is stuck to the every 3 hour feeding( was never on a schedule at birth, i tried and it didn't work for her). I cant get her off it no matter what. Naps are the only deal breaker but even then she wont nap longer than 30 minutes. She isn't ready for finger foods really since the last time she tried it she chocked on a few. She gets 2-3 jars a day with 4-5 oz with it and between solids she has 6-8 oz. It all varies on how she feels. some days i cant get her to eat a single jar of solids. She absolutely hates the baby cereal, she made it clear when she first had it and then had it mixed. What can you do but give them what they want really. If i try to get her to eat the food she just acts likes she will throw up."

Haydeekidd replied: "Have you tried cooked pasta (without sauce)...look for tiny alphabet pasta- it is just the right size for little ones. My daughter also really likes dry toast cut into small pieces. I would also recommend more fruits and vegetables. Try small pieces of banana (you can even mix it with their cereal) or melon. I also give my daughter the tiny frozen vegetables (cooked obviously) like peas, corn, carrots. What about grated cheese and yogurt? The more variety you offer them now, the less of a battle you will hopefully have on your hands later."

shannanm2783 replied: "MY almost 11 month old eat almost twice what your son does. She has breakfast usually consisting of a pancake, waffle, or bagel with cream cheese or peanut butter, and half a banana cut up, then around 12 or 1 she has soup, or a quesadilla, with some gerber puff things and peaches or another fruit, then for dinner she eats what we eat, including meat, it just has to be diced up better. Now this isn't even including her snacks or breastfeedings. She often has 2-3 snacks a day. I give her avacodo, watermelon, cheeses, crackers, yougurt, blueberries, all kinds of veggies (cooked of course) and an occasional whole fruit popsicle. There are a ton of nutritious foods you could give your son, but you are taking the easy way out and feeding him crap. I have 3 kids and I manage to give them healthier choices, most of the time. 11 month olds really should not be having that much junk food, they need lots of veggies, fruit and protein. But that is just my opinion and I guess that is why something like 60% of the population is overweight and 40% is obese......."

Linsey replied: "Dude im a nurse and im not seeing any of the major food groups- where is the meat, veggies, milk you should not try to survive off of this diet it seems very unhealthy!!! IF u dont believe me email that to ur doctor!"

Jchan replied: "A lot of experts disagree on this point, of whether to eat more for meals and cut out snacks entirely, or eat a little bit throughout the day. I personally believe in eating more during meals, and cutting out snacks all-together, because it can be easy to lose track of the calories. Include some of the fruit as a sort of dessert for you dinner, and make the whole wheat bread go with your lunch. I just think you're going to be starving by your second breakfast with your measly dinner. You're not gonna get to sleep."

Walker replied: "seriously the best thing to lose weight is running. It sucks but if you can run 5miles maybe every other day its great."

Emily O replied: "Consult your doctor. That's a bad diet plan. You need all food types, you should look at a food pyramid. Start with a bigger breakfast too, it kickstarts your metabolism in the morning!"

krissy replied: "i think u are making your body do way 2 much and maybe u should eat regularly and do lots of sports and i gain like a pound a month and eat like a man"

imababe_84 replied: "No."

Halena replied: "Just barely, you may want to get a week's extra just in case."

sport_girl replied: "that's plenty of good for you but eat more if u want don't just limit it"

wolfeblayde replied: "From the looks of your list, you should be OK on entrees, but it looks as if you've shorted yourself a little in the fruit, veggies, and dessert sections. I'd go with a few more frozen veggies and some canned fruits, along with a carton of ice cream or some dessert items that will store well."

west_side_don replied: "Why dont you make a menu?"

james k replied: "No."

J H replied: "Just basing it on your list I would guess if you eat small portions perhaps, however given your height and weight I would estimate you would be shy about 8-10 days worth of food, I would pump up the protein by at least another 12 lbs. The problem with some of this food is storage. Are you planning on buying of this food at once and spreading it out over the month or are you going to make further trips to store with this menu? If all at one time some of it may spoil before a month is over. Did you consider pastas and canned foods? You need to eat at minimum 3 good meals a day, preferably 5-6 small meals. Taken the protein you listed in your menu, I'm guessing based on 6oz of protein I only figure about 34-36 meals for 30 days, not enough.."

barbara replied: "You have way too much meat, no whole grains, minimal vegetables and no fruit. That's a sufficient quantity of food but insufficient nutrients."

i_do_not_like_stupidity replied: "That's way too much meat and junk, and too little fruit, grains and veggies"

naysayer replied: "I'm about your size and my monthly food allotment isn't that much, if you don't mind leftovers you should have plenty."

is this a good way to break up my calorie intake into 6 small meals??????????????? im 5'8 106lbs 17 year old female.....and i consume 1600 calories a day to maintain my weight ( yes i know i need to gain weight lol but thats besides the point.) so heres how i break it up: breakfast 6am 375 calories ( 2cups cheerios, 8oz soy milk and 15 grapes) snack- 11:30am 75 calories ( 1 medium apple) lunch 3:30pm 300 calories *but it came out to 223 today so i ate more for my snacks* ( 1 boca burger patty, 2 slices of whole wheat bread, 3 leafs of lettuce, 2 tblspn of Concord Grape Sugar Free Jam - Smucker's, and 8 oz soy milk) snack 530 pm 100 calories (popsecret 100 calorie bag butter popcorn and black coffee) dinner 7pm 450 calories ( either chicken or lean meat , vegetables , & a side dish ) snack 9m 300 calores ( 2cups of honey bunches of oats and 8 oz of soy milk) with all this food im getting every single part of the food group, so is this healthy??? and yes im recovering from anorexia and im learning how to eat normal again without getting anxiety attacks :) so if it looks like im counting my calories and going all crazy then you know why now lol before i would only just eat a lil bit of cereal and water :( but this is an improvement!!!

Robert S replied: "Sounds fine. Your doing great!"

wendyf46 replied: "looks good to me. good luck in your recovery."

Violet Pearl replied: "I like your eating plan. It looks like you're including a good mix of foods. Two suggestions I'd make is to 1-add more protein to your diet- lean meats, fish, cottage cheese, peanut butter, a boiled egg. and 2-instead of the sugary cereal at night, eat a sweet potato with butter. This will slowly raise your insulin levels so you get a good night's sleep. And feel free to add some healthy fats- avocado, nuts, olive oil. Fats raise the endorphins, the "feel good" brain chemical. Keep up the good work!"

tuff luv replied: "yes 6 smaller meals a day is better when losing weight. read tips on weight loss and exercise programs to help you better on this site"

FirefighterChick replied: "Don't forget to exercise, too. And take in plenty of protein."

Is this unhealthy? Yes, another diet question! Alright, I've looked around on Y!A, and I'm not sure if I have the facts straight, but I have heard that you need to burn MORE calories than you eat to lose weight. Please fill me in on this. I have also looked around at other peoples' diets, and am starting to wonder if I am eating a healthy diet. (I'm trying to lose 15lbs. and I just started a few days ago) So here's what I'm doing- this is today, and pretty similar to everyday so far: (I hope you don't mind if i'm not too specific on plans.) BREAKFAST: About 300 calories English Muffin With Egg and Cheese Small Coffee, or Juice or Tea LUNCH: About 195 1/2 English Muffin Pizza 1/2 Cup Apple Sauce DINNER: About 360 (I didn't have much time to eat) Bread with some Butter Grapes 8 oz. Limeade SNACKS: About 250 Popcorn Almonds EXERCISE: Burned About 725 Walked/Jogged - 1hr15min early afternoon Treadmill - 35 minutes (ran one min, walked 2-3) My calories added up to ALMOST 1200, and if you subtract the number I burned, It was almost 400. I feel like if I work my butt off today and don't come close to losing an ounce at the end of the week, then there's pretty much no hope. :( So please tell me about the whole "burning more than you eat" thing and if my diet is healthy, just to be sure. Also, if you have any tips for a healthier lifestyle or diet, a good way to burn more calories faster or lose weight in general, it would be very much appriciated. Thanks to all. ~Emily~ and i forgot to add the fact that i want to lose the 15 pounds by mid-october at the latest

YOU.CANNOT.DESTROY.ME! replied: "Sound a lot like the diet my doc recommended for me. although he said i wouldn't lose much weight anytime soon that it was designed just to make me healthier. but def keep up with it"

Nathan C replied: "The only thing which I feel is unhealthy about your routine is the foods in your diet; they may add up to your desired amount of calories, but they still contain fat and are not exactly stellar for your heart. The best way to drop 15 lbs (is there a desired time-frame you would like to lose this weight by?) is by eating healthy, LOW CALORIE :D foods, such as salads (preferably without thick dressings, but dry is best.) Some things you may consider introducing regularly into your diet include fruits and fresh vegetables (of course), fish, and try staying away from greasy foods such as eggs and butter. Grapes at dinnertime is a step in the right direction!! Grapes would make for a tasty snack-treat as well... possibly replacing popcorn? Almonds are high calorie, but man does your diet sound delicious!!! ALSO: It is very true that you must burn more calories than you consume (amongst other things) in order to lose weight. Logically, that makes sense! If less comes in and the same comes out, then there must be less inside!! (Calorie-wise, that is :) -------------------------- I would also like to add that eating foods low in sodium will help you to get your weight down, if you are hoping to meet a weight requirement; salt retains water in your system, and by reducing your salt intake several days prior to weigh-in, you could easily lose a pound or two on the scale! (Though that is not usually considered "losing weight" in regard to fat). Best of luck to you, you can totally do this and it won't take much time— you're just going to have to stick with it until you begin to notice results! (Sometimes it takes several days before you begin to notice a change in your weight, no matter what you eat)"

Jenny C replied: "Your calories may be fine number wise but more is involved when losing than only calories if you are wanting to lose weight. There are a lot of bad carbs and too much fat in your diet. Bread and butter and grapes for dinner is not a healthy meal. If you would cut all white breads, sugar and carbonated drinks out of your diet you would be eating healthier and losing more weight. You need some protein instead of the bread such as skinless chicken or fish and a veggie. Instead of the English muffin try wheat toast For lunch a little chicken and a salad would be better than the English muffin pizza. And a fruit for a snack would be better than the almonds. Right number of calories, but bad choice in foods."

how long do i need to wait before exercising? At 6 this morning, I had 6 cups of air popped popcorn, a protein bar, and some sliced chicken, along with 20 oz. of water. I finished that at 7:30 AM, and now it's 8:10 AM and I'm currently drinking another 20 oz. of water. How long do I need to wait before I run for an hour so I have energy to do it from the food, but so I don't feel sick?

jimmy replied: "wait for two hours after you took your meal and exercise one hour before you take you meal"

shopaholic_xoxo replied: "Wait around 30 minutes and try running. If you start to feel sick stop and wait another 15. (You are really healthy!)"

Did I eat too much today? I'm 18 5'3 104 The magic number in my head is around 97 pounds I'm trying to lose 2 pounds every week for 4 for weeks Breakfast: 1 cup Honey-Nut Cheerios Water Lunch: Ham sandwich on 100 calorie bread Light Mayo 8oz of diet Dr. Pepper Dinner: Half a baked chicken breast Half a large red potato 8 oz of diet Dr. Pepper I will eat a bag of 100 calorie popcorn tonight. Did I eat too much today? Did I eat too many carbs?

Christina replied: "do not eat the popcorn!"

Michael replied: "Dr. Pepper? Popcorn? You don't need these in your diet, I'm sure you can live with out them."

Ta-Zu (&Miku) replied: "While I think you really shouldn't lose weight, I think you're okay. However - take out the soda. If something has to tell you it's diet...it's probably not good for you. edit: also, you should try to get some fruit into your diet. I think you're probably going a bit too under your calorie requirement for everyday, regardless if you're dieting. (About 1500 calories.)"

ArcadianKnightXX replied: "No. But there is a cleanser that all the stars use. Its called:"

B-boy Ube replied: "lose the dr. pepper replace with water or milk. wheres the calcium? eat your cheese and drink your milk. lose the popcorn it can be unhealthy some times."

theodora replied: "dont eat popcorn... oh & drink diet soda its relly bad for you. its worse then regular soda."

Anthill replied: "nah you should be fine. You can eat popcorn just make it plain no butter, salt. uh to be 104 pounds again lol"

Dr. Candour replied: "A low carb/calorie diet means the exclusion of things like soda and popcorn and mayonnaise. Substitue the Dr. Pepper with Water or a Fruit Juice If you are on a diet you cannot be eating Popcorn (especially in the night) No eating after 7pm."

Ariana C replied: "I don't think the question is did you eat too much although the answer is no. the question is, why are you trying to kill yourself? this sounds o me to be the beginnings of an eating disorder, also while you have not eaten too much, you have not eaten very healthily. dr pepper? why? no no drink water, fake sweeteners will give you cancer, and try to throw some vegetables in there too, instead of that bag of popcorn, get yourself a plate of celery and baby carrots and low cal salad dressing as a dip, (you actually do not need the low cal version but you sound like the diet type) try to snack on things that grow, have some grapes in the middle of the day and an apple and then some spinach or broccoli or something like that with your chicken breast. The best way to look great is to eat healthy foods, your body will put itself at your correct weight if you do."

Stephanie M replied: "If you eat 1200 calories a day, you will lose 2 pounds per week. You can have diet sods, but you really need to get in more water. At least 8 glasses a day. Pick only one thing, like low carbs or low calories, but not both. I have lost 60 pounds over the course of a year and a half. Lost the first 40 on Weight Watchers, then 10 on low carb, and now on low calories. Good Luck!"

psychiatrydude replied: "First off, drinking soda (even diet) is bad. Not only does it cause health problems, but the artificial sugar makes your body crave real sugar. Back to your question, 1200 calories is a good range for losing weight. You ate around 800-1000 calories today so I'd say you should eat the 100 calorie popcorn and maybe an apple. What concerns me is that you're not getting enough of the nutrients that you need. You should be eating vegetables at every meal. I would take a multi-vitamin if I were you. Finally, it will be very difficult for you to get down to 97 pounds (which is borderline underweight) because your body doesn't burn that many calories given your height and weight, and falling below 1200 calories will not be good. So honestly, weight isn't anything but a number. There's little that 7 pounds is going to do. If you want to try and look slimmer, exercising and toning your body will do just that without screwing up your metabolism."
